Vizuál pro rok 2026 s logem festivalu

The One World International Human Rights Film Festival presents its first news about the upcoming 28th edition. The highlights include a new graphic design concept from the Slovak studio duo; Tom and Jerry, and the launch of a Christmas offer. The latter involves discounted ticket packages and festival merchandise, which already allows viewers to get into the spirit of the festival and get behind the issues that are shaking up today's world. One of the first program announcements is a retrospective work by the Norwegian documentary filmmaker Gunnar Hall Jensen – an author whose deeply personal and courageous pieces raise questions that resonate with all of us.

The graphic design profile of 2026 builds on the visual work from 2024, and was created under the direction of the Slovak creative duo Tom and Jerry (Tereza Maco and Jozef Sklenka). This time, the central motif is a world globe interwoven with grid lines, symbolizing a world that is both connected and divided, unified and fragmented — in short, a world in which the stories of the festival films are born.

"We wanted to work with a graphic element that visually refers to global interconnectedness and the borders that separate us. The world globe became a natural symbol of the themes that One World addresses," say the two designers.

Christmas offer: discounted ticket packages and merchandise discount

Along with the reveal of the graphic design, the festival is also launching a special Christmas offer for its audience. You can now purchase:

The discount applies to all items — from clothing and accessories to gifts — and is an ideal opportunity to buy gifts or get equipped for this year's festival.

First program announcement: Gunnar Hall Jensen retrospective

One of the first program events to be revealed is a retrospective ensemble of Norwegian documentary filmmaker Gunnar Hall Jensen, whose work is among the most daring and intimate voices in contemporary Nordic documentary filmmaking. In his films, he does not shy away from radical honesty or an uncompromising look into his own inner self—personal crises, relationships, forms of masculinity, and fatherhood. He thus creates a unique cinematic space where vulnerability becomes strength and authentic self-examination opens the way for viewers to explore their own themes and questions.

One World will present his trilogy:

  • Gunnar Goes Comfortable, 2003

  • Gunnar Goes God, 2010

  • Portrait of a Confused Father, 2025

The work will present Hall Jensen not only as a film experimenter, but above all as an author who can transform the most difficult and intimate topics into universal stories about searching, doubt, and the courage to be oneself.

A strong response to the preview screening of the film The Voice of Hind Rajab

The festival attracted attention at the end of November when, in collaboration with Artcam Films, it presented a special pre-festival screening of the film The Voice of Hind Rajab. The documentary, which follows the story of a six-year-old girl trapped in the middle of a bombed Gaza, deeply moved the audience, and the preview at the French Institute in Prague's Kino 35 was met with an exceptionally strong response. Although the festival does not start until March, the November screening confirmed that human rights documentaries can appeal to audiences at any time of the year. The upcoming 28th edition will take place from March 11 to April 24 in Prague and in more than sixty cities throughout the Czech Republic. The festival will gradually announce further program news throughout the winter and spring.
