(Stardust)
Shards of rockets streak across the sky and scatter to the ground. For a brief, almost romantic moment, many in Kazakhstan see the fragments as an opportunity to earn money. Local collectors guide the director to sites that gradually reveal the full scope of Soviet influence: vast zones contaminated with high radiation, serious health problems passed down through generations, and environmental destruction. The stories of ordinary people living in these affected areas stand in stark contrast to the ongoing reality that Soyuz rockets still launch from Baikonur today.
