A portrait of a mining community working in one of the highest and most dangerous mines in the world. Through the eyes of a young boy, we witness a place where work, faith, and the constant presence of death are both a daily reality and a legacy of colonialism.
Breathtaking mountain landscapes form the backdrop of daily toil and the constant threat of disaster. Harsh reality blends with deep spirituality and a belief in the spirit of the mountain. Through the lives of thirteen-year-old Juvenal, experienced miner Hoper, and the young Claudia, we witness a self-contained ecosystem where life in the mine shapes every aspect of existence from childhood to death. By combining observational filmmaking with contemplative imagery, the film creates a vivid portrait of mountain communities whose world, burdened by poverty and labor, is constantly tested by the limits of faith and human will.
