Eva Kubátová
Ibero-Americanist
Eva Kubátová has been working at Memory of Nations since 2012 and specialises in the Latin American region, a focus shaped by her studies at the Centre for Ibero-American Studies at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, where she defended her doctorate in 2017. Since that same year, she has been coordinating the documentary project Memory of the Cuban Nation, through which over 200 Cuban dissidents and human rights activists have been documented, both from the island and from exile diasporas. In 2021, in collaboration with Associate Professor Martin Palouš, she published the electronic book #LIBERTAD, which presents intergenerational commemorative stories of 63 Cubans—a symbolic number reflecting the then 63-year-long totalitarian regime in Cuba.
