Stanislav Havlíček

Stanislav Havlíček (1973) is a Czech pharmacist and participant in Médecins Sans Frontières missions. During his first six-month mission in South Sudan, he earned the nickname Son of the Buffalo and wrote a book of the same name about it. His second book, Voice of the Wind, reflects on his experiences during a mission to a Rohingya refugee camp in Bangladesh and won the Hanzelka and Zikmund Award for Travel Book of the Year 2021. His account of two missions in Yemen is titled Coffee from Mocha. His latest book, Nebe plné draků (A Sky Full of Dragons), returns to two "war" missions in the Middle East: to the West Bank in 2021 and to the Gaza Strip in February and March 2024.
