Alena Růžičková is an Ibero-Americanist specializing in Portuguese-speaking countries. In addition to working for Camões - Portuguese Cultural Center in Prague, she also teaches Portuguese and works as a translator. She has long been interested in the culture and literature of northeastern Brazil, which she has been visiting regularly for over fifteen years.
