My Brother Is Deaf
One’s hair is curly, the other’s straight. Aged 5 and 2, they are brothers who play together and romp around like everyone else. But instead of talking they communicate using sign language.
12-year-old Leeza lives high in the Pakistani mountains. Her dream is to become a professional footballer and travel the world with her team. Her plan has just one setback: she’s not very good at football yet.
After her father dies, Leeza lives with just her younger sister Lena and their mother, who must support the whole family. Instead of football training, Leeza has to help in the fields or in the kitchen. By contrast, Lena doesn’t do anything and spends all her free time playing football, making her one of the team’s best players. But their sibling ties are stronger than their rivalry and Lena decides to help Leeza. Together, they train hard every day, working towards making their dream a reality. A crucial game in the local girls’ football league is fast approaching.
