A Fox Under a Pink Moon
Millions of Afghan men and women live in Iran without permanent legal status or protection. Sixteen-year-old Soraya suffers domestic abuse as well as the inability to freely decide her own future.
A humorous look into the heart of a Turkish village, where a group of women decide to challenge traditional social roles in an imaginative way. They do so with due wit and stubbornness.
Halime lives in a small Turkish village where life is still largely governed by the will of the patriarchy. An independent heroine, she believes, however, that women have the right to spend their time on things other than housework, children, and husbands. She therefore decides to organise a shooting competition in which only women are to participate. For the event to be successful, Halime must first convince the local men of its purpose. The documentary offers a light-hearted portrait of resistance that relies not on radical gestures or protests, but rather on quiet strength. With humour, the film highlights the vital importance of community, female solidarity, and perseverance.
