Over the 10 years of filming, Sanyi changes from a curious street kid to a troubled teenager. The film captures his attempts to avoid the fate of a child from a poor family in Viktor Orbán’s Hungary.

The director first met 7-year-old Sanyi in downtown Budapest. They started skateboarding together, looking for fun and adventure. The street gradually becomes Sanyi’s second home. Whenever he can, he runs away from the old ground floor studio flat where he lives with his parents, two siblings and grandmother. The camera is there when the family prepares for social security checks, when Sanyi finds his first girlfriend or when he and the gang start partying. “Convince me you are not going to be an alcoholic, homeless, junkie, lazy bum,” says the director to the teenage protagonist. What direction will Sanyi’s life eventually take?
