About the film

Two brothers run a raptor rescue station in India. Their philosophy is respect for all living beings. In their daily reality, however, only the lives of those who hold the proper religious and political beliefs are respected.

An integral part of the New Delhi ecosystem, black kites have adapted to the city’s heavily polluted air. They hunt for food in landfills and build nests on the roofs of houses. But when the weather gets warmer, or the smog worsens, they fall to the ground. Muslim brothers Nadeem and Saud have set up a rescue station where they treat and feed the birds of prey until they can fly again. IIn one of his poetic reflections, Saud reveals that their parents raised them to respect everything that breathes. The symbiosis of animals and humans is enhanced by harmonizing shots of the slow-moving camera. But this harmony is threatened not only by the deteriorating state of the environment, but also by the economic situation and the growing anti-Muslim riots in the streets.
