Along the US-Mexico border, in the Mediterranean, and in refugee camps in Greece, a new type of border is emerging - a digital one. Drones, biometric databases, facial recognition, and autonomous guard towers are gradually replacing concrete walls. All these high-end technologies are presented as means to ensure greater security and save lives, but the documentary reveals that they are actually being used for intimidation, control, and “pushbacks”. Refugees, who cannot afford to resist, thus become involuntary guinea pigs at the mercy of tech giants with billion-dollar budgets.
