Podcast Rozhovory Moniky Zavřelové Live
Is the world afraid of horny women?
Orgasm as a basic human right. When a man can’t reach climax, it’s considered a medical issue. When a woman doesn’t experience satisfaction, it’s considered normal. The documentary The Pink Pill: Sex, Drugs & Who Has Control opens a debate that remains surprisingly explosive even today: Why does female pleasure continue to be an awkward topic? And who actually decides what counts as “normal” libido?
These are some of the questions discussed in an interview with director Aisling Chin-Yee for Rozhovory Moniky Zavřelové. Chin-Yee brings to the screen the story of entrepreneur Cindy Eckert, a woman who set out to introduce the first drug for treating low sexual desire in women. Instead of support, she encountered long-standing resistance from U.S. authorities. What began as a fight over a single pill gradually turned into a years-long clash over something much bigger: entrenched ideas about the female body, desire, and who holds power over them.
Aisling Chin-Yee is a Canadian film director, screenwriter, and producer, and the director of The Pink Pill: Sex, Drugs & Who Has Control.
The discussion will be held in English.
