About the film
When Jasmine learns that she and her family will return to North Africa, where her parents are from, she faces the biggest change of her life. She has to say goodbye to everything she knew and loved in Finland, including her best friend, Maryam.
In Somalia, where Jasmine and her family have moved, everything is different. There are no playgrounds for children, people don’t use cutlery when eating, and camels walk the unpaved streets. The young girl experiences culture shock and misses Finland, where she grew up. It is only at school that she meets children with similar fates, with whom she gets along and from whom she does not differ at first sight. And she has to concede that having two homes isn’t all that bad.
