Andrea, a single mother of two, is in a desperate situation. Her ex-husband Pika, convicted of abusing Andrea’s daughter, has settled in their neighbourhood after being released from prison and is now laying claim to their son. Moreover, Pika is openly supported by almost the entire village where the family lives.
Pirko was only nine years old when Andrea divorced her stepfather. After Pika’s return, the family’s life was turned upside down once again. Although Andrea does everything in her power to protect her children, she remains the black sheep of the village among the long-term residents. Pika, the son of a respected local priest, on the other hand, enjoys the trust of the strongly religious community. This sensitive portrait of a charismatic woman follows her journey out of the clutches of family trauma and her patient struggle against the petty village mentality.
