In the seemingly masculine world of Mexican rodeo, clothing is stretched tight over the body, just like the tension in the arena. This glittering spectacle hides a deeper desire for the free expression of sexuality.
Amid the thundering bulls, three cowboys reveal how difficult it is for them to talk about queer topics with family and the public. Popular traditional celebrations assume that a rider must be skilled on the animal, but it is equally necessary to be strong within. An experimental camera explores the seductive landscapes of southern Mexico, weaving vintage rodeo footage with pulsing electronic music. The sweat-soaked male bodies may yet find the courage to ride the wild backs of prejudice with pride.
