Exhibition Repeat After Me 2022

We invite you to the opening of the exhibition Repeat After Me 2022 by the creative collective Open Group. The project works with sound as a fundamental bearer of wartime experience.

Instead of images of destruction, it focuses on the acoustic trace of the conflict — on the sounds of weapons, explosions, sirens, and silence that become inscribed into the bodies and memories of people living in war or forced exile. The ability to recognize these sounds is not a matter of artistic or sociological experimentation; it indicates an effort to survive.

The framework is based on the principles of karaoke — participants mimic the sounds of weapons they have encountered and, with the simple instruction “repeat after me,” invite the viewer to imitate them. A pop-cultural entertainment format is transformed here into a tool for transmitting traumatic experience.
