The Men's Room

(For vi er gutta)

The Men

Twenty Norwegian middle-aged men gather every week over beer to have fun and sing. Together they form a choir. But their friendship is suddenly affected by illness.

The members of the Norwegian choir Mannskoret (Male Choir) have been singing cover versions of well-known rock songs for almost two decades, and now they are even supposed to open a show for the legendary Black Sabbath. Friendship and singing are what's most important for the men of the choir, and once they even jokingly promised to sing at each other's funerals. But harsh reality catches up with them when it turns out that choirmaster Ivar has cancer and has only a few months to live. In the face of their own mortality, the men give way to their emotions. But despite this prognosis, the choir will not cease to prepare for its greatest performance. The filmmakers have created a moving tribute to a shared passion, a sense of belonging and especially friendship, which overcomes the pain of the imminent loss not only of a choirmaster but above all a friend.
