Gaps in the System

Every system – political, social and judicial – has deficiencies and gaps. Some people look for them and use them to climb the social ladder, others fall through to the very bottom. We find cases of unjust and unfair practices towards citizens even in developed countries, and states fail in many areas, such as housing policies or undue force used by the police. The films in this category show other situations where the Western world is not a role model, for instance in the care provided to people on the outskirts of society who are forced to perform demeaning work, or ensuring a dignified funeral for people who have lost both home and identity.
