One World in Brussels
In 2019, the 13th annual One World Festival in Brussels will take place. The festival in Brussels is organised by People in Need in co-operation with the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the EU, the Czech Centre Brussels and the European Parliament. Every year, we select the most important human rights documentary films from the Prague One World programme, and by this means we open up current human rights issues at the centre of key European institutions and organisations. Every year, One World in Brussels hosts a number of experts, human rights campaigners and filmmakers and discusses today's trends in the field of human rights at the panel debates after the screenings.
One World in Brussels takes place in Brussels from 23 - 30 April 2019.
Our long-term local partners include the the Human Rights and Democracy Network and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway. Other NGOs and international partners are involved in organising the screenings and the panel debates. In 2019, these partners are Alliance2015, the Committee to Protect Journalists, European Endowment for Democracy, The End FGM European Network, EUROPEUM, European Partnership for Democracy, House of European History, International Federation for Human Rights, ACTED, Concern Worldwide, EU Aid Volunteers and others. The screenings take place in the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the EU, in the main Brussels Centre for Fine Arts Bozar, the European Parliament, Norway House, Cinema Galeries, Prague House and the House of European History.
Held under the auspices of Jakub Dürr, Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to the EU and Věra Jourová, Commisioner for Justice, Consumers and Gender Equality.
