Podcast Hlas Heroine Live

On the frontline of wildlife protection with handler Klára Hlubocká

Because of human carelessness and ignorance, rare birds of prey die cruel deaths in our countryside. Canine handler Klára Hlubocká searches for illegal poisoned baits with her two dogs, helping to restore balance to a landscape some people treat as their personal hunting ground. In a live episode of Hlas Heroine at the One World festival, we open a powerful story about the courage to confront poisoners and long-standing myths.

What is it like to protect those who cannot defend themselves, with only her canine partners by her side? What does Klára’s fieldwork look like, and why are hunters not always the enlightened nature lovers they claim to be? The interview with Klára Hlubocká will be accompanied by a screening of the environmental detective documentary Resilience.

Klára Hlubocká is a dog trainer with more than 30 years of experience, founder of nosework in the Czech Republic, a graduate of field-search courses, and the only handler in the country specializing in detecting poisoned baits. She is also the protagonist of Resilience.

The discussion will be held in Czech.
