Invitation to the Grand Opening

We are launching this year’s edition of the One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival in Brno on Thursday, March 19, at 18:00 at První patro. Join us as we open a space for sharing and reflecting on the pressing themes of today's world.

Opening Film: Coexistence, My Ass!

The festival will open with the documentary Coexistence, My Ass!. The film follows comedian Noam Shuster-Eliassi, who uses stand-up to address the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and challenge prejudices on both sides. Raised in the Neve Shalom community—a project established to foster dialogue between Jewish and Arab citizens—Noam uniquely blends personal experience, activism, and sharp humor in her performances.

Post-Screening Debate

The screening will be followed by a discussion offering expert context and space for your questions. Our guests will include:

  • Marek Čejka (political scientist, Masaryk University),

  • Šimon Pánek (co-founder and director of People in Need),

  • Attila Kovács (scholar of religion focusing on Islam and radicalism).

To ensure the program is accessible to everyone, the debate will be interpreted into Czech Sign Language.

Musical Finale: Zelené koule

We will conclude the evening with a performance by the Brno-based band Zelené koule. Their work, described as "eco-punk," brings a unique poetic style and a reflection on environmental grief. Spanning various genres, the band balances gravity and satire while exploring our relationship with nature.
