The Voice of Hind Rajab

(La Voix de Hind Rajab)

Red Crescent volunteers answer an emergency call: a six-year-old girl is trapped in a car under fire in Gaza, pleading for rescue. While keeping her on the line, the humanitarian workers do everything in their power to get an ambulance to her.

Tunisian director Kaouther ben Hania blurs the line between documentary and dramatized reconstruction. Anchored by the voice of Hind Rajab, the story unfolds entirely through real calls to a Ramallah call center. With minimal visuals, the film relies on the power of voice and silence, juxtaposing a child’s fragile hope with the harsh realities of war. The result is a stark, urgent testimony to the failure to protect civilians, and to how easily a single life can vanish in the anonymity of armed conflict.

Mailin

A mother and daughter share a quiet evening ritual that gradually transforms into a dark tableau of memory and fear. The film sensitively observes how motherhood becomes a journey toward protection as well as a return to a painful past.
