One World in Brussels – Jury
Members of the One World in Brussels Jury, representatives of various human rights organizations, are selecting a film from the festival program that makes an exceptional contribution to the defense of human rights. This year’s jury members are:
Sylvain works for EuroMed Rights as Head of Advocacy. Previously, he worked for the Quaker Council for European Affairs, the European Parliament, Human Rights Watch and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. He holds a Master’s degree in International Relations and an Advanced Master’s degree in Human Rights. He is fluent in French and English.
Elena Crespi has been heading the Western Europe Programme at FIDH (International Federation for Human Rights) since 2013, focusing on human rights protection and promotion in Europe and driving the organisation’s regional strategy and its implementation in cooperation with FIDH’s member organisations across the region. A lawyer by training, she previously worked as and advocate and legal officer at Amnesty International EU office, at Italy's Permanent Representation to the EU, at the European Parliament and in private law practice. Among her competence areas are issues related to the rule of law and shrinking civic space, migration and asylum, economic, social and cultural rights, racial and gender justice. She lives and works in Brussels, where she is based at FIDH’s Permanent Delegation to the EU.
Nora Wehofsits is an International Advocacy Officer at Human Rights House Foundation (HRHF) and its Brussels-based representative. She works to advance HRHF’s objectives at the European level and provides strategic advocacy support to HRHF’s partners. Previously, Nora led advocacy activities of the European Centre for Press and Media Freedom (ECPMF). Further work included editorial occupations, project management and sustainability communication. Nora has an academic background in communication science and international criminology. She is a member of the art association KV Leipzig.
