She Had a Dream

(Ghofrane et les promesses du printemps)

A young Tunisian activist and future lawyer facing discrimination and racism in her country is determined to strive for social change through her active participation in politics.

The revolution known as the Arab Spring brought new hope for a more dignified life to the people of Tunisia. Ten years later, however, the country is facing serious problems and society is becoming disillusioned. Unlike her resigned and mostly unemployed peers, a young woman with black roots named Ghofrane knows what she wants. As a child, she dreamed of a career as a doctor or singer, but now she is studying law and is determined to become an activist politician. For many years, she has been involved in civil society and is seeking to eradicate the racism, discrimination and inequality that she herself experiences. Will she be able to win a seat in parliament as a candidate for the Tahya Tounes party?
