Dare to Do Whatever

(MOD SVED TÅRER)

Stories of Danish high school students whose creativity and individuality are valued more than knowledge, and who sit on gym mats instead of classroom benches.

The Academy for Untamed Creativity (AFUK) is a Danish alternative to classical secondary education whose motto is: Dare to be different. Over the course of one school year, the documentary follows four students of the arts programme, from their initial uncertainty and clumsiness on the balance beam to the captivating transformation seen in the final joint performance. The students' confidence and abilities grow thanks to the innovative approach of the educators, who offer them space for development and support in finding themselves during the difficult time of adolescence.
