Student Film Clubs

For the second year a group of active students from secondary schools have organized in their free time film projections for their classmates. They use the space and the equipment of the schools for this project, after which they organize accompanying activities such as discussions with guests, the tasting of traditional foods, and exhibitions.
Up to this point the students have organized almost a hundred film projections, and have gradually included over eighty students from thirty various types of schools throughout the Czech Republic. For these students we regularly organize a three-day seminar. Their program includes model projections, discussion with guests, film creators and specialists, thematic workshops and exchange of experiences.
During this year's festival there will take place another meeting. In addition to participation in the special projections and accompanying activities the students will attend the festival projections.
Films from One World for those who are unable to go to the cinema

The volunteer activities of the students and their interest in the events of the surrounding world led us to the idea of bringing films from the schools to facilities for young people in difficult life situations, who often through their own mistakes, but a majority however through an unfavorable fate, find themselves in an environment which offers them significantly limited opportunities in comparison with their peers. Such places are numerous in the Czech Republic – children's homes, refugee camps, ghettos, children's wards of hospitals, and prisons... Documentary film has the potential to become a means of establishing contact and deepening communication between their peers, who otherwise would find such a path very difficult. Young people, students of "normal schools" gain access to an environment of which they can only know about through the media, or through the documentary films whose projection they organize. For disadvantaged young people living in exclusion (behind bars, behind fences, behind glass...) this will on the other hand mean a welcome and desired contact with the world around them.
During this year's festival several such projects will take place, and we hope to establish long-term cooperation with these facilities as well as with the film clubs.
