The festival consists of an international competition of feature-length and short documentary films and videos, retrospectives and tributes, a showcase of human rights public service announcements and TV spots, educational screenings at high schools, workshops, debates, concerts, photo exhibitions, and other events. One World offers a concerned and critical look at the current state of the world and its transformations. One World features documentaries that go beyond usual media coverage of current social and political affairs but nonetheless maintain a high standard of filmmaking quality. We believe that the importance and power of documentary film does not reside solely in its content, but also in its artistic qualities. We search for documentaries that reflect the present-day world in an original and creative way, without ideological mentoring on what we should think or do. We are eager to provide an inside look, but not simple answers. The 6th annual of the One World Human Rights Film Festival will take place from 15-22nd April in Prague, Czech Republic and will be held under the auspices of former president Václav Havel, the Minister of Culture Pavel Dostál and the Lord Mayor of Prague Pavel Bém.
