Opening

 

   
 

The Opening Ceremony of the 6th annual One World international human rights documentary film festival will take place on Wednesday 14 April at 8pm in the Main Hall of the Archa Theatre.

The masters of ceremony will be Ladislav Špaček, the former spokesperson for Václav Havel, and his son, the filmmaker Radim Špaček.

The One World 2004 promotional trailer will also be premiered at the opening ceremony. This will be followed by a screening of Abduction, Ivan Markov's documentary about the first war crimes against civilians during the Balkan conflict, in which 16 ethnic Muslims were taken hostage by a Serbian paramilitary unit.

Finally, the Homo Homini Award will be presented to Nataša Kandić, Executive Director of the Humanitarian Law Center from Serbia and Montenegro. This award is given annually by People in Need to persons with outstanding merits in promoting human rights, democracy, and the non-violent resolution of political conflicts.

Please note that attendance at the opening ceremony is by invitation only.
