The Awards Ceremony of the 6th annual One World international human rights documentary film festival will take place on Thursday 22 April at 8pm in the Main Hall of the Archa Theatre.
The first award will be the Rudolf Vrba Award for the best film in the Right to Know Category. The members of the Rudolf Vrba Jury are not professional filmmakers, but courageous individuals who have suffered from human rights violations themselves.
The Czech Radio Award will be given for the best use of sound or music in a festival documentary. This award will be presented by the director of Czech Radio, Václav Kasík.
The Václav Havel Special Award for the film with the most significant contribution to human rights awareness will be chosen by the former president of the Czech Republic, Václav Havel.
The Audience Award, sponsored by Plzensky Prazdroj, will be given to the best film as chosen by the festival-goers.
The Mayor of Prague Award for the best short documentary will be presented by the Mayor of Prague, Pavel Bém.
The award for Best Director will be chosen by the main jury. All the members of this jury are acclaimed filmmakers. This award will be presented by Jiří Janeček, general director of the Czech TV, One World's main media partner.
The final prize will be the Minister for Culture of the Czech Republic Award for the Best Film. The winning film is also chosen by the main jury. The award will be presented by the Minister for Culture, Pavel Dostál.
Please note that attendance at the awards ceremony is by invitation only.
