Ten Years of One World in Schools. Student Documents to See

Outside its festival season, One World also runs its yearly One World in Schools (Jeden svět na školách) educational project. For the tenth year now, it organises a full programme of film screenings for secondary and high school students throughout the year, publishes sets of documentary films with accompanying educational material, coordinates One World Film Clubs, and runs Stories of Injustice - a project mapping out the contemporary Czechoslovak history on documentaries. The films and sets of educational material issued within this educational project are screened at and used by over 2,800 schools in the entire Czech Republic.
As the One World in Schools project gradually expands abroad, its activities today are also run in Estonia, Germany, Lebanon, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Sweden.
Every year, One World in Schools additionally comes up with the International School of Documentary Film at which young people from different European countries get to know how to collect material for their documentary films, how to work with the sound, music or subtitles, learn the principles and art of documentary filmmaking, meet and discuss their issues with professional documentary filmmakers, and get an opportunity to shoot their own short films that are subsequently published at the One World in Schools YouTube site.
