Awards and Juries
Grand Jury is composed of important film directors and producers, this jury presents the Best Film Award and Best Director Award in the Main Competition.
Rudolf Vrba Jury awards the prize for best film in the Right to Know category. It is made up of important human rights advocates, international representatives of the non-profit sector and donors. The jury is named after war hero Rudolf Vrba, who escaped from Auschwitz concentration camp and subsequently fought as a partisan against the Nazis until the end of World War II.
Václav Havel Jury – In keeping with the legacy of Václav Havel, this jury awards a special prize to a film that makes an exceptional contribution to the defence of human rights.
Czech Radio Jury presents the Czech Radio Award for creative use of music and sound in a documentary film.
Student Jury awards a prize for the best movie in the festival’s selection of films for students. It is chiefly composed of secondary school students who are organisers of One World in Schools student film clubs.
Bageterie Boulevard Audience Award – In what has become a tradition, festival-goers decide the Audience Award.
