In a frequently humorous, occasionally shocking manner, these spots draw attention to serious topics, such as the devastation of the environment, domestic violence and racism. Other videos are intended to alter our patterns of behaviour in areas like road safety. In many countries, they have genuinely increased the level of people’s civic engagement in the fight against social discrimination or in protecting the rights of animals.
During the festival, a selected series of spots will be shown before the main screenings in all cinemas.
Monday, 14 March 2011, 6:30 pm, Divadlo Archa theatre
This is an event dedicated to screening all of the social spots from the NonComm category. It will be followed by a debate with experts on social advertising. The evening will culminate in the announcement of the results of an audience poll for the best NonComm spot from the series presented on the website of Czech Television.
Twenty five of the most surprising, compelling and entertaining spots from around the world can be viewed on line as part of an internet special. Viewers can vote for the spot that they think is the best.
The spot is a part of a campaign supporting Amnesty International’s petition calling for the release of Myanmar opposition leader and Nobel Prize laureate Aung San Suu Kyi
